MAR 10 to APR 2

Slowgirl is the story of a teenager who flees to her reclusive uncle’s retreat in the Costa Rican jungle to escape the aftermath of a horrific accident. The week they spend together forces them both to confront who they are as well as what it is they are running from.

MAY 5 to MAY 28

On a plantation somewhere down south, a mystical tree reaches up toward heaven. Generations of slaves have been hanged on this tree. But James is going to be different, as long as he keeps his head down and practices his reading. Moreover, as the Civil War rages on, the possibility of freedom looms closer than ever. When a stranger arrives on the plantation, a striking romance emerges, inviting the couple and those around them into uncharted territory.

JUNE 23 to JULY 16

Our second original script of the season, Mugre ( Filthy) is written by Chula Vista resident and OSP family member Salomon Maya. The story takes place at a carwash and deals with the themes of immigration, family, and the quest to be the best version of oneself. Salo and I have workshopped the piece privately over the past year. We will be doing 4 table workshops of the piece with invited local writers to make sure that the play is well rounded and fully thought out. This will also be a bi-lingual play.
