PLAYWRITING 101 with Tom Steward, 
Have a story to tell but don’t know where to start?



START with our 5-week PLAYWRITING workshop for the tools you need to write a play.

LEARN basic elements of playwriting.

GENERATE ideas and integrate them into a coherent theatrical structure that works.

EXPLORE how to create the right setting, time, characters and dialogue to achieve your goals.

CONSIDER how your story and characters develop inside the piece.

FOCUS on how to make your playwriting practical, realistic in terms of the theatre industry, and marketable in the world of show business.

FINISH with a 10-minute play read by professional actors at Onstage Playhouse.

DATES & TIME: March 15 – April 12,  8 PM Weekly on Sundays

 COST:  $170 for 5 weeks of class (must be over 21)

Come learn how to improvise with the best of them.




Greg Newman, a graduate of UCLA Theatre School will lead us in 5 fun sessions once a week, culminating in a 15-25 minute Harold/Harry improv show on stage at the Playhouse. 

A member of the Upright Citizens Brigade improv education program, Greg graduated UCB's core program in 2015 with Will Hines as his instructor (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend).


After graduation, Greg helped form the independent improv team Iguonodon and would regularly play at The Clubhouse theater. 


Class size is limited.  $170 for 5 sessions.
