OnStage Playhouse is the only live community theatre in Chula
Vista, the second largest city in San Diego County.
We operate year round, producing six or more superior plays per year.
OnStage has an intimate theater seating 60 playgoers, located near
3rd and F in downtown Chula Vista.
In 1999, OnStage moved to a storefront on Third Avenue, just a
block away from the space we occupied for the previous 13 years.
OnStage is recognized as a significant cultural arts contributor
to the community, and consistently impresses its audiences, critics, and
judges with continuing high-quality productions. Throughout its history,
OnStage has received more than its share of County-wide
technical, acting, direction, and production awards.
Our charter describes OnStage Playhouse as a nonprofit corporation
(Tax Exempt Number 33-0099794) organized to educate the general
public in theatre and other forms of art. We are grateful for recent
grants from San Diego County for promotion and from the Chula Vista
Office of Arts and Culture for our Student Intern Program. We are also
grateful for past grants from the San Diego Foundation for capital
improvements and the Parker Foundation for production support. |
